It does look scrumptious! Good luck :-)

  • ESP January 3, 2010, 6:41 pm

    Thanks Ms.S,
I devoured five that day, if I remember correctly.

  • Susie January 4, 2010, 12:01 am

Oh my that is a beautiful shot….looks sugar coated!

  • Jenny January 4, 2010, 9:51 am

Great shot and good enough to eat. I just looked at Austin’s forecast for the week. Looks like you might get a few more frosty scenes. Good luck with your entry.

  • healingmagichands January 4, 2010, 11:16 am

What a great picture! I love it when the frost paints the plants, and the hen and chicks are great in the winter.

  • ESP January 4, 2010, 11:23 am

    Hi Susie.
I agree, they would look great in a chocolate box!

  • ESP January 4, 2010, 11:25 am

    Hi Jenny and thanks.
This was the only frosty picture I have taken this year, so it was an easy choice to pick as my entry.
    More frost?…I knew it!

  • ESP January 4, 2010, 11:32 am

Thanks Healingmagichands. We have had quite a few frosts already this year in Central Texas, and it looks like more on the horizon. Last year it did not freeze at all. I like the frost as well, at least for a while, it better not take my Mexican lime tree though.

Usually I’m the only esp around but when I submitted my photo entry on gardeninggonewild.com, I saw that you were there before me with your stunning shot. Congratulations.

  • Mr. McGregor's Daughter January 5, 2010, 1:57 pm

Beautiful shot, the plant’s rosette shape makes a nice contrast to the crystals.

  • ESP January 5, 2010, 2:13 pm

    Thank you.
I just checked in on this plant today and the rosettes have got smaller…I hope it makes it!

  • Pam/Digging January 5, 2010, 4:33 pm

Sugar coated undersea flowers, or something along those lines. Gorgeous as always, ESP.

  • ESP January 5, 2010, 5:34 pm

    Hi Ellen.
It seems we share something in common ESP!
    Thanks.

  • ESP January 5, 2010, 5:36 pm

    Hi Pam.
    Exactly!
Thank you Pam. It was THE only frost shot I have taken this year…no image gallery searching this time!
Looks like we have some more on the way.
    ESP.

  • Jack Holloway January 6, 2010, 1:47 am

  • ESP January 6, 2010, 3:33 pm

Thanks Jack and welcome to the Patch.

  • Melody January 8, 2010, 12:39 pm

They look like minature “blue” roses. So pretty. Good luck!

    • ESP January 8, 2010, 1:09 pm

      Hi Melody.
They do now you come to mention it. Thanks and welcome to the ESP.

  • Diana January 10, 2010, 8:03 am

the beauty of ice crystal formations, nature’s design and your capture… quite stunning.

  • ESP January 10, 2010, 9:29 pm

    Thank you Diana.
This tiny rosette was just about as perfect as it can get, the frosting an added bonus…Tony the tiger would be proud of this little succulent.

  • Kate January 11, 2010, 9:18 am

What a beautiful photo. Good luck. :)

  • ESP January 11, 2010, 4:01 pm

    Thank you Kate.

  • Helen at Toronto Gardens January 16, 2010, 11:53 am

I love the form of echeverias to begin with, and the crystals are just the ice-ing on the cake.

    • ESP January 16, 2010, 2:45 pm

      Hi Helen.
Me too, and I have to confess I did eat this one :-)

  • Linda Steider January 17, 2010, 7:01 pm

Wow, it’s gorgeous, hope it survives!

  • ESP January 18, 2010, 10:48 am

    Hi Linda…me too!
