Absolutely awesome! I’ll be interested in reading more about how you got the shot!

    Hi TD.

    Thanks.
The shot was taken on my stomach, (macro mode on my point and click). These almost transparent spores were quite numerous, in fact all of the soft blue dots in the background are also toadstools receding into the distance. The way the light-beam hit this scene actually made me notice it in the first place, foliage left and right created the dark negative space, furthering the illusion of viewing a “secret place” as well as adding depth and perspective to the image.

Wow! What a shot – very cool. I have to admit I bought a point and click just for the macro ability! Love the colors.

  • Pam/Digging May 6, 2011, 10:03 am

    Very otherworldly. Good luck, ESP.

    Thanks Pippin :-)

    1) great picture of the toadstools.

    2) did you do any post processing on it?

  • Gail May 6, 2011, 4:53 pm

    Glorious!

  • ESP May 6, 2011, 5:12 pm

Hi Katina, I either ramped up the blue values post processing or ran it through a Photoshop filter? Cannot remember.

  • ESP May 6, 2011, 5:12 pm

    Thanks Gail.

Uh come on now, you didn’t take that picture. I remember that scene in Avatar. That was right after the little floaty, tree pollen thingys were flying around.

For real though, you are the absolute King of the point and shoot.

  • ESP May 12, 2011, 9:55 pm

Bob…I am watching Avatar (yet again) as I type this!…And I did use those floaty thingy-ma-jigs in one of my “looks like” images…(the milk thistle seeds)!
The point and shoot camera is a marvelous thing…It is all I know!
    Thanks B…

Just magical. Incredible bokeh. How did you take it?

  • ESP May 15, 2011, 10:34 pm

    Thanks forest.
Nothing special…just a basic small point-and-click camera…added you to my blogroll.
